Organic means in harmony with nature. In simple words, the produce that doesn’t have any exposure to chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides is termed as organic. No amount of chemicals are used at any stage, right from sowing till the time it reaches the stores for selling.

Simply put, organic has all the necessary goodness while keeping away the harmful elements at bay. Organic foods are better in taste because the natural state of the agricultural product remains intact. This is highly beneficial to us, as well as to the environment, as eco-friendly agricultural practices are employed in their production.

Organic farming is a process of 3-4 years of continuous development of farmland without any chemical aid. Farmers have been converting their farmlands into organic farms and getting certified. Any Organic produce comes from these certified farmlands only.

Organic Mantras has got its certification as a processor of the Organic Products under NPOP, NOP as well as EU. That means the products of Organic Mantras are certified as per Indian, US and European standards of organic production. Apart from this, Organic Mantras also has Food Safety and Security Authority of India (FSSAI) license, which is mandatory for any food operator.

Organic products go through a rigorous certification process, right from the farmland to the processor. India has adopted an Organic plan called “National Program for Organic Production: NPOP” and the certification is called India Organic Certificate. Similarly USA has the organic standards that are under “National Organic Program : NOP” and the standards are called USDA. EU standards for Organic certification are followed for Europe.

Organic Certification requires that a third-party certifying organization accredited by the Department of Agriculture has verified that a product meets the standards established by the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). It follows the National Standards for Organic Production (NSOP). The NPOP regulates all aspects of organic food production, including handling, labeling, processing, delivery and retail sale. It also accredits state agencies and private organizations to inspect and certify organic facilities.

Organic Mantras products come from certified farmers all across India. Hence even though they go through the certification process, the soil is inherently much richer in minerals and other nutritious elements that finally constitute the agriculture produce. Therefore the products are a lot healthier and tastier.

All these items are organic in nature and hence only gone through the natural process. That means that the actual taste will vary depending upon the soil condition, and the farm type etc., as compared to the conventional product, which maintains almost the same taste because of the chemical’s addition. Even from one batch number to another, the taste can vary.

Not all organic products are the same. There are different categories of organic. In order to carry the NPOP Organic seal, a product must be at least 95% organic; that is, at least 95 percent of the ingredients used must be organic. The remaining 5% cannot include ingredients that are artificial, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), irradiated or grown in fields where sewage sludge is used as fertilizer. But they can include conventional (non-organic) items, only if an organic option for that product is not commercially available. Organic Mantras offers 100% organic products.

Products that contain at least 70% certified organic ingredients may use the phrase “Made with organic ingredients,” but may not display the Organic seal on their package. Always consult the printed list of ingredients to determine the organic makeup of a product.

The organic products do not go through any process of polishing. Also no chemicals are added for any artificial coloring or shining agent or process etc. Absence of chemicals and no polishing makes the physical appearance of the organic product look less appealing.

In general organic is more aromatic and tastier as the natural taste is not spoiled by the use of chemicals and there are no added flavors or artificial colors.
